To find the first 3 terms substitute n = 1, 2, 3 into n th term rule, that is

a₁ = 3(1) + 2 = 3 + 2 = 5

a₂ = 3(2) + 2 = 6 + 2 = 8

a₃ = 3(3) + 2 = 9 + 2 = 11

The first 3 terms are 5, 8, 11
