The sum of two numbers is 5 and difference of their square is 5 find the difference if number​

Answer:

x+y=5...i

x²-y²=5...ii

from i, x+y=5

x=5-y...iii

substitute iii in ii

(5-y)²-y²=5

25-2y²=5

2y²=20

y²=10

y=✓10

put y=✓10 in i

x+✓10=5

x=5-√10
