Explanation:

  • All you have to do is use the Triangle Inequality Theorem, which states that the sum of two side lengths of a triangle is always greater than the third side;

a+b > c

a+c > b

b+c > a

  • If this is true for all three combinations of added side lengths, then you will have a triangle.

A)triangle is possible with these measurements

2+3 >4

2+4> 3

3+4>2

B)triangle is not possible with these measurements

2+3 >6

2+6> 3

3+6>2

C)triangle is possible with these measurements

90+45+45=180 degrees(sum of interior angles of a triangle is 180 degrees)

180=180

D)triangle is not possible with these measurements

90+60+60=180(sum of interior angles of a triangle is 180 degrees)

90+120 =210 degrees

sum of interior angles of the triangle is more than 180 degrees

Therefore it is not a triangle

D is not possible because the angles add up to more than 180, so switch that.

The explanation for c: This triangle is possible since the sum of its three angles is 180 degrees.
