Using Pythagoras Theorem, we can solve the question.

It states that,

(Base)² + (Height)² = (Hypotenuse)²

Using the equation above,

a) (1)² + (1)² = (Hypotenuse)²

=> 1 + 1 = (Hypotenuse)²

=> 2 = (Hypotenuse)²

=> Hypotenuse =


√(2)

b) (Base)² + (1)² = (2)²

=> (Base)² + 1 = 4

=> (Base)² = 3

=> Base =


√(3)
