Since it is a double negative, you add the two together. First, you must find the LCD though. Which is 10. So you multiply the left side by 2. This comes out to 18/10 - (-6/10) but since there's two negatives, you add them, so it's 18/10 + 6/10 = 24/10 = 12/5
