It's not option C because if you distribute 2y to each term in the parenthesis

you get -4
y^(5) + 6y³ + 4y². But where is the 8y² and -2y?

While Option B is equivalent, you can factor it out more and find the common factor of -2 to distribute among them as shown in option D

It is option D because distributing the -2y to each term solves to

-4
y^(5) + 6y³ + 8y² -2y.
