Answer:

A detailed answer is given in the explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

FOR CURRENT MEASUREMENT:

In order to measure the current in a component, an Ammeter is used which is included in a multimeter nowadays.

The ammeter is connected in series just before the component by just breaking the circuit at that point and connecting the two terminals of the ammeter to complete the circuit again.

FOR POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE MEASUREMENT:

In order to measure the potential difference across a component, a Voltmeter is used which is included in a multimeter nowadays.

The voltmeter is connected in parallel with the component simply, by connecting the two terminals of the voltmeter across the two ends of the component.
