I am trying to solve the equation 4x-5=2-x. I need to show my work

Answer:

4x-5=2-x

Place all x terms on one side

4x-5=2 (+x to equation on the left)

5x-5=2

5x (+5 to equation on the right) =2

5x=7

(÷5 to get x on its own) x=7

x=1.4

Hey there,

Solve the equation:

4x - 5 = 2 - x

4x - 5 = -x + 2

4x - 5 + 5 = -x + 2 + 5

4x = -x + 7

4x + x = -x + 7 + x

5x = 7

x = 7/5 = 1,4
