Answer: x = 11/3

Explanation:

Add 5 to both sides.

3x=6+5

3x-5+5=6+5

Add the numbers to both sides -5+5=6+5

3x = 11

Divide both sides of the equation by the same term

3x = 11

3x/3 = 11/3

Cancel terms that are in both the numerator and denominator, which is 3x and 3, and that leaves x

x = 11/3

Hope this helps :)
