Your weight on Mars in only about 1/3 your weight on Earth. Which reason BEST explains this?

Equation of Newton’s second law, F = ma, is useful in explainging the difference. F is force, m is mass and a is acceleration. If an object is on earth, a is replaced by the acceleration due to gravity of earth, that is g. Its value is 9.8 m /sec^2 - of course with some minor variation on equator and on pole. If an object is on mars, then a has to be replaced by acceleration due to gravity of mars. g of mars is about 1/3 of g of earth. about 3.3 m / sec^2. So obviously, weigths of same body on earth and mars will be different.
