Answer: x = 11

Explanation:

Given

4 (x - 1) = 2 (x + 9)

Expand parentheses and apply the distributive property

4x - 4 = 2x + 18

Subtract 2x on both sides

4x - 4 - 2x = 2x + 18 - 2x

2x - 4 = 18

Add 4 on both sides

2x - 4 + 4 = 18 + 4

2x = 22

Divide 2 on both sides

2x / 2 = 22 / 2

\boxed {x=11}

Hope this helps!! :)
