Answer:

Density of mixture is 7.0 g/
cm^(3).

Explanation:

Density of mixture = density of water in the mixture + density of oil in the mixture

Given: water and oil were mixed in a ratio 3:5

density of water is 1.0 g/
cm^(3) and that of oil is 0.8 g/
cm^(3).

Then,

density of water in the mixture = 3 x 1.0 g/
cm^(3)

= 3.0 g/
cm^(3)

Density of the volume of water in the mixture is 3.0 g/
cm^(3).

density of oil in the mixture = 5 x 0.8 g/
cm^(3)

= 4.0 g/
cm^(3)

Density of oil in the mixture is 3.0 g/
cm^(3).

So that,

Density of mixture = 3.0 + 4.0

= 7.0

Density of mixture is 7.0 g/
cm^(3).
