8. 150 litres of water flows through a pipe in 6 minutes. Through the same pipe 200

litres of water flows in 8 minutes. Are the quantity of water flown and the time
taken are in proportion?​

Explanation:

We are told that 150 litres of water flows through a pipe in 6 minutes.

Thus means that the rate of flow = 150/6 = 25 litres/minutes

Now, we are also told that through the same pipe, 200 litres of water flows in 8 minutes. This means that the rate of flow = 200/8 = 25 litres/minutes

Now, the rate of flow is both instances is the same. Thus, we can say they are in proportion because;

Proportion of quantity in both instances = 200/150 = 4/3.

while that of time = 8/6 = 4/3

They have the same proportion
