y = 2x + 2

Explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope (gradient) and c the y- intercept )

Here m = 2 , then

y = 2x + c ← is the partial equation

To find c substitute (1, 4) into the partial equation

4 = 2 + c ⇒ c = 4 - 2 = 2

y = 2x + 2 ← equation of line
