Answer: $8.40

Step-by-step explanation:
We convert percentages to decimals by dividing by 100.
So 100% = 1.0, 70% = 0.7 (that’s what’s left after a 30% discount), 80% = 0.8 (what’s left after the 20% discount)

7.50 x 0.7 = 5.25 (price after first discount)

5.25 x 0.8 = 4.20 (price per pound after second discount)

She is buying two pounds, so double that.

4.20 x 2 = $8.40

You can always multiply by the amount of discount and subtract from the whole, but this is faster

7.50 x 0.3 = 2.25
7.50 - 2.25 = 5.25

Let me know if you have any questions.
