Given the data 16,18,x,12 and 15

Sum = 16+18+x+12

Sum = 46+x

Mean = 15

Sample size = 5

Substitute

15 = 46+x/5

15 * 5 = 46+x

75 = 46 + x

x = 75-46

x = 29

Hence the value of x is 29
