69° + (2x - 1)° = 90° (complementary angles)

69 + 2x + 1 = 90

Add like terms

69 - 1 + 2x = 90

68 + 2x = 90

Subtract 68 from each side

68 + 2x - 68 = 90 - 68

2x = 22

Divide both sides by 2

2x/2 = 22/2

x = 11
