B=52 tons

A+B=280----1

A-B=176----2

From 1

A= 280-B

put this in 2

280-B-B= 176

280-2B= 176

280-176= 2B

104= 2B

B= 104/2

B=52 tons

Put B=52 in 1

A+52=280

A= 280-52

A= 228 tons
