What is the Star of David?

- It is expensive jewelry that the Jews in Germany could no longer afford.

-It is the symbol that Jewish people use to identify themselves (much like a cross identifies Christians).

-It is a Christmas decoration that Jewish people use in their homes.

- It is a certain star in the sky that the Wise Men followed.

I believe it is the first option

explanation from Britannica:
Star of David, Hebrew Magen David (“Shield of David”), Magen also spelled Mogen, Jewish symbol composed of two overlaid equilateral triangles that form a six-pointed star. ... The yellow badge that Jews were forced to wear in Nazi-occupied Europe invested the Star of David with a symbolism indicating martyrdom and heroism.
