the width is 2 kilometers

Explanation:

total area: 3/2 (kilometers^2)

length: 3/4 (kilometers)

in a rectangle the area is the length multiplied by the width/height

so:

divide 3/4 from both sides to isolate the width:


((3)/(2))/((3)/(4)) = ((3)/(4)w)/((3)/(4))


2=w which is the same as:
w=2

then just add the units on the end and you're done!
