Answer:

5 x - 50

Explanation:

1. Subtract the numbers (2−42−6)−1(5+2+2)=

(2−48)−1(5+2+2)

2. combine like terms (2−48)−1(5+2+2)=

(2−48)−1(7+2)

3. Distribute (2−48)−1(7+2)=

(2−48)−7−2

4. Eliminate redundant parentheses (2−48)−7−2=

2−48−7−2

5. subtract the numbers 2−48−7−2=

2−50−7

6. combine like terms 2−50−7=

−5−50

7. simplify 5 x - 50

Answer:

-5x - 50

Explanation:

(2x - 42 - 6) - (5x + 2x + 2)

collect like terms

(2x - 48) - (7x + 2)

take away the parentheses because you cant do any more

2x - 48 - 7x - 2

(7x - 2) is changed to -7x - 2 because there is a negative sign in front

collect like terms again

-5x - 50
