Explanation:

first you need to find the area of the rectangle, so you would multiply 7 and 3, which gives you 21, (A=L•W). So now you need to find the area of the triangles, the formula for that is A= 1/2 b•h, so you get 3in for the area of the triangle, but since there are two and they are the exact same triangle you would just combine them, so the area for both triangles is 6in, so then you would need to subtract the 6 from the 21 so that you can find the area of the shape, and your final answer would be 15in(squared). hopefully you understand
