Answer:

y=3x+1

to find the slope, find the change in y/change in x

7-1=6

2-0=2

6/2=3

3 is your slope

your y intercept occurs when x=0, and that was given to you in the problem

(0,1)

your y int is 1

y=3x+1

Answer:

(x1,y1) is (2,7)

(x2,y2) is (0,1)

Explanation:

Point-slope form is:

(y-y1) = ( (y2-y1) / (x2-x1) )(x - x1)

y - 7 =( (-6)/(0-2) )(x-2)

y - 7 = 3x - 6

y = 3x + 1 [slope-intercept form]

Check:

Is (2,7) on the line:

7 = 3(2) + 1 ?

y = 7 ?yes

Is (0,1) on the line:

1 = 3(0) + 1 ?

1 = 1 ? yes
