Answer:

y = (-3)/(4)

Explanation:

(y)/(2) + (1)/(4) = (y)/(6)

Lets take all the variable terms in L.H.S & all the constant terms in R.H.S.

(While taking a term from one side to another side , it's sign changes )

(y)/(2) - (y)/(6) = -(1)/(4)

Now in L.H.S. , lets solve the fractions and reduce its numerator and denominator .

(3y - y)/(6) = -(1)/(4)

(2y)/(6) = -(1)/(4)

(y)/(3) = -(1)/(4)

Lets multiplying 3 on both the sides .

(y)/(3) * 3 = -(1)/(4) * 3

y = (-3)/(4)
