Explanation:

let's imagine we move the point x further and further to the right (and move the connected lines with it) until we get a flat line that connects the two parallel lines.

in this case we have x = 180 degrees, and the top and bottom angles are both 90 degrees.

so, we have a total of all angles of 180 + 90 + 90 = 360 degrees.

this total had to stay the same no matter how we move x outward or inward.

so, even in the situation in the picture the sum of all 3 angles must be 360 degrees.

therefore we get

360 = 120 + 110 + x

360 = 230 + x

x = 130 degrees
