The width of a rectangle is six meters less than the length. The perimeter is 56 meters. Find the length and width (in meters)

18 times 2 is 36
18-6 is 12 you take away 6 because the width is 6 less then the length
12 times 2 is 24
36 + 24=56
therefore the length is 18 and the width is 12
