Trinomial = three terms

Polynomial = four or more terms

As the other answer says, the order for degrees is:

Linear - to first degree

Quadratic - to second degree

Cubic - to third degree

Quartic - to fourth degree

Quintic - to fifth degree

Anything above fifth degree is just said "__th degree"

Example: x^7 + x^2 + 5 would be seventh degree trinomial
