Lets do

\\ \sf \longmapsto \: 3(x + 5) - 7 = 2(x +2) \\ \\ \sf \longmapsto \: 3x + 15 - 7 = 2x + 4 \\ \\ \sf \longmapsto \: 3x + 8 = 2x + 4 \\ \\ \sf \longmapsto \: 3x - 2x = 4 - 8 \\ \\ \sf \longmapsto \: x = - 4
