for Diego's function, we will write the total amount of savings (or his goal) = the amount hes saving multiplied by the weeks he saves + the amount he started with

y = 2x + 10 (in blue in attached file)

same with Lin

y = 2x + 50 (in red in attached file)

if the lines cross at any point, then that point on the two lines is the same value of x AND y, otherwise, one or the other is a different value

beings as these two lines have the same rate of change, they will not cross, meaning that neither will have the same amount if the rate continues
