The ratio of the weight of an object on Planet A to the weight of the same object on Planet B is 100 to 3. If an elephant weighs 5000 pounds on Planet​ A, find the​ elephant's weight on Planet B.

Answer:

one way to solve this question is to realize that every 100 pounds on planet A equals only 3 pounds on planet B.

So, 5000 pounds divided by 100 = 50. Then that number times 3 will give the weigh on planet B which is 150 pounds.

Algebraically, 100/3 = 5000/x; when we cross multiply, we get 15000/3 = x; x = 150
