sales tax is 8% of the 90 dollars that he payed

so we can convert 8% to a decimal by moving the decimal 2 to the left. 8% to 0.08

now multiply 90*0.08 to find the sales taxes

90*0.08= 7.20

so we just add $7.20 to $90

and we get $97.20
