2x^2 - 6x = 8

1. Divide the equation by 2
-> x^2-3x=4

2. Move the constant to the left
-> x^2 - 3x + 4 = 0

3. Use the quadratic formula
—> - - (3) +/- square root -(3)^2 - 4 x 1 x 4 divided by 2x1

4. Plug into the calculator

Answer: 3 +/- square root 7 divided by 2
(Essentially the last one)
