The Carr School Band purchases pizza and drinks for their end-of-year celebration. Each pizza costs $10 and each drink costs $2. A total of 62 items (pizza & drinks) are purchased for a total price of $220. If p = the number of pizzas and d = the number of drinks, which system represents this situation?

Answer:

Explanation:

p+d=62 and 10p+2d=220

Not sure if you need solution, but

p=62-d, using this p in second equation gives you

10(62-d)+2d=220

620-10d+2d=220

-8d=-400

d=50, and since p=62-d

p=12

So the band purchased 50 drinks and 12 pizzas.

Answer:

4n + 100 = C

7n = C

by elimination 7n - 4n - 100 = 0

3n = 100

n = 100/3 (33.33)

*need to sell 34 pizzas

n= number of pizzas

c= cost
