-24.5 or 7i or -71 (see below)

Explanation:

Im gonna guess that you mean (22-16)(2x+49)=0

Therefore, since one of the brackets must be equal to 0 and 22-16 is 6, 2x+49=0 so x is -24.5

However, if you meant (22-16)(x^2+49)=0

then x^2+49=0 so x^2 =-49

Therefore, the answer is complex and therefore 7i or -7i
