Two angles are supplementary. If the degree measure of the larger angle is

60 less than twice the measure of the smaller angle, what is the measure of each
angle?

Supplementary angles - Sum = 180°

X + Y = 180°

x = larger angle

y = smaller angle

x = 2y - 60

x + y = 180

x = 180 - y

2y - 60 = 180 - y

2y - 60 -180 + y

3y = 240

y = 80°

x+y = 180

x+80° = 180°

x = 100°
