is this an independent clause or a dependent clause?

Hey there!

This is an independent clause, because it CAN stand alone as a sentence. Dependent clauses CANNOT stand alone as a sentence. Another detail is that independent clauses have a subject AND a predicate, whereas dependent clauses only have a subject OR a predicate, not both.
