Explanation:

okay, so you've got your zeros right here actually. it's very simple, so I'll give you the reader's digest: SET THEM ALL TO ZERO

x-1=0 add your one, so that's x=1

x+3=0, subtract your 3, so that's x= -3

the last one is tricky: 2x+1=0, 2x= -1, but you can go further. divide your two, and you're left with x= -1/2
