Answer:

Part A. Holli earns more per hour. Holli makes $0.50 more per hour than Melissa.

Part B. y = 8.75x + 4

A lot of people struggle with questions as such. I am a mathematician and teach math to kids and I am always surprised by the amount of questions about this!!

So, let’s get started!

An example equation would be 2x+1=7
Using this, we know that x=3 as you would take one off of both sides and divide down to find the value of x. Your question is exactly the same, except you must make the equation instead. Your equation should look like this:
8.75+4x=35

simplify this equation down and you have provided the examiner with enough information to gain 4 marks!!
