For a triangular prism, the cross sections are made up of several triangles and a base which is also made up of a triangle.

To get the surface area, we need the following

1/ Perimeter of the base triangle is the sum of all its sides (P)

2. Area of the base triangle (B)

3. Slant height if the prism h

Hence the required formula is expressed as;

Surface Area = B+ 1/2Ph

Multiply by 2

Surface area = 2B+1/2Ph(2)

Surface area = 2B+Ph
