\huge\text{Hey there!}

\large\textsf{6(-6 + x) = 76 - 2x}

\large\textsf{-36 + 6x = 76 - 2x}

\large\textsf{6x - 36 = -2x + 76}

\large\text{ADD \textsf{2x} to BOTH SIDES}

\large\textsf{6x - 36 + 2x = -2x + 76 + 2x}

\large\text{CANCEL out: \textsf{2x - 2x} because that gives you \textsf0}}

\large\text{NEW EQUATION: \textsf{8x - 36 = 76}}

\large\text{ADD 36 to BOTH SIDES}

\large\textsf{8x - 36 + 36 = 76 + 36}

\large\text{CANCEL out: \textsf{-36 + 36} because that gives you \textsf{0}}

\large\text{KEEP: \textsf{76 + 36} because that helps solve for \textsf{x}}

76 + 36 = 112

\large\text{NEW EQUATION: \textsf{8x = 112}}

\large\text{DIVIDE \textsf{8} to BOTH SIDES}

\mathsf{(8x)/(8)=(112)/(8)}

\large\text{CANCEL out: }\mathsf{(8)/(8)}\large\text{ because that gives you\textsf{ 1}}

\large\text{Keep: }\mathsf{(112)/(8)}\large\text{ because that gives you the value of \textsf{x}}

\mathsf{x = (112)/(8)}

\large\textsf{x = 14}

\boxed{\boxed{\huge\text{Therefore your answer is: \textsf{x = 14}}}}\huge\checkmark

\huge\text{Good luck on your assignment \& enjoy your day!}

Answer:

x=14

Explanation:

6(-6+x)=76-2x

Distribute

-36 +6x = 76 -2x

Add 2x to each side

-36+6x+2x = 76-2x+2x

-36 +8x = 76

Add 36 to each side

-36+36 +8x = 76+36

8x = 112

Divide by 8

8x/8 = 112/8

x=14
