HURRYYYYYYY ITS DUE IN 1 hour

In Chapter 8 Samuel sees Virginia's shore for the first time and twice refers to
it as "desolate". Why do you think he uses this word to describe this place?

Answer:

He uses the word "desolate" to describe this place because it is deserted and bleak, or in a state of emptiness. :)
