First we have to find what is the actual value of the corresponding angle.

180 - 102 = 78 (Angles on a straight line add up to 180°)

So now the 78° is the angle of the corresponding angle. This angle is equal to ∠X. Thus the value of x can be found.

6x + 12 = 78°

Bring 12 to the other side in order to find 'x'. This will make it to -12.

6x = 78 - 12

6x = 66

Now take 6 and put to the other side of the equation. Since 6 was multiplied with x, shifting it to the other side of the equation will make it 'divided upon 6'

(66)/(6) = 11°
