A boy sits 1.0 meters from the center of a merry go round, he spins at 20 rpms , what's the velocity

We know ,
1 \ rpm = (2\pi)/(60)\ rad/s

So,
20 \rpm = 20* (2\pi)/(60) = (2\pi)/(3)\ rad/s\\

It is also given that, boy sits 1.0 meters away from the center of the merry go round.

Solution :

We know, velocity of at distance r from center in a circular body is given by :


velocity = \omega * r\\\\velocity = (2\pi)/(3)* 1 \\\\velocity = (2\pi)/(3)\\\\velocity = 2.09\ m/s

Therefore, the velocity of boy is 2.09 m/s.
