Answer:

In my opinion targeting consumers is unethical. Many companies target their consumers by tracking what they have bought and then advertise it to them. Companies desperately try acquiring new customers. Some of these companies are likely to apply inappropriate means of gaining people's attention. One of many of the methods is target marketing. Target marketing is where corporations use adverts and marketing as a means of attracting consumers. They are targeting their customers accurately to sell their goods. But not all companies do this.

In order for a company to be ethical they should be more open about their products or payment plans and everything they do. Companies should not try to swindle their customers out of their hard earned money. Some companies do really sneaky marketing techniques which dupe consumers into buying their products. If the consumer feels like they got ripped off then they will more than likely never shop there again. Most people trust these companies that do this and that's not okay. They are putting their trust in something that isn't true.

The consumer should not have to research products just to be sure they aren't being scammed. Because of all this customers have to be very critical of what they buy. Some people are more than likely to look at a different place to find the same item they're looking at for cheaper. For example, let's say someone is looking at a pair of shoes and they're $50 but they look online and they're down to $30, they're gonna go for the cheaper price. In my opinion the store they are at should bring the price down to what it is online if they want to make that money.

Companies should not keep any information from the customers. They really need to include information about the ingredients in their products that could be harmful. If they don't put all of the ingredients on a product then the customer doesn't know if they are allergic to something or not. That could lead them into the hospital and the company getting sued because they didn't put the information. That would be bad for the company and they could lose a lot of money for a situation they could've avoided.

That is what I put, I hope it helps! :D

Solution :

In marketing and selling a product to customers, companies tries to target those customers who are not well informed and are not aware about the product or not aware about the terms and condition of the purchase of the product. It is not ethical to target them. This is a form of lying and is not the nest practice and is not called professionalism.

Also without the knowledge about the product, the customer may be at risk by using the product. It can cause any harm than any good to the customers. For example, taking any medicine can have a negative side effects to the person consuming it. This is dangerous and so it should be not allowed to sell a product with out informing them about the product.
