So first, you have to know the equation y2-y1/x2-x1 which you can use any point on the line. I will pick a random point and show you. (0,-3) and (2,1). Plug these two points into the equation and get 1--3/2-0. Simplify this and get 4/2 which is equal to 2.

Just a reminder y2 and x2 is not y squared and x squared, it is just the second number of the points.
