Given:

Perimeter of a rectangle = 25 2/5 ft = 25.4 feet

Length = 3 + Width

Computation:

Assume;

Width = a

So,

Length = 3 + a

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l + b)

25.4 = 2[(3 + a) + a]

25.4 = 2[3 + 2a]

25.4 = 6 + 4a

4a = 19.4

a = 4.85

Width = 4.85 feet

Length = 3 + 4.85

Length = 7.85 feet
