A recipe calls for 1/4

cup of milk for every 1 1/2
cups of flour. How many cups of flour will you need for 1/2
cup of milk?

3 cups

basically if 1/4 cup of milk is for 1 1/2 cups of flour ------ 1/2 cup is twice the amount that a quarter cup is because a 1/4 cup + a 1/4 cup = 1/2 cup so you double the amount of flour too and 1 1/2 + 1 1/2 is 3 cups of flour.

1/4 + 1/4 = 1/2 (milk)

1 1/2 + 1/12 = 3 (flour)
