the parallelogram in the figure has an area of 320 sq. in.

and the right triangle at the top right has an area of 80 sq. in.

adding both areas would equal to 400 sq. in.

( if you're wondering,what about the right triangle at the bottom left?Well that triangle actually gives us the height of the parallelogram which is 16.therefore the triangle's area is already found in the area of the parallelogram.As you should know the area to a parallelogram is A=bh ,and the base is 20 so multiplying 16 x 20 that equals 320.Therefore the triangle's area is already found in the area of the parallelogram.)
