Multiply top equation by 3 and bottom by 2

6p+9q=-12

6p+10q=-14

Do bottom - top

(6p+10q)-(6p+9q)= (-14) - (-12)

q = -2

6p + 9(-2)=-12 = 6p=18

6p=18-12=6

p=1
