Q.1 Write the algebraic expressions

(i) Three times p added to four times r

(ii) The difference of 2p and 3q when 2p is less than 3q

(iii) Two-thirds of x added to 2y [3]

Answer:

(i) 4r + 3p (ii) 3q - 2p when 3q > 2p (iii) 2y + 2/3 x [not sure what [3] means]

Explanation:

So for part (i) 3 multiply p added to 4 times r = 3p + 4r

For part (ii) since subtraction can seem like a negative number you stipulate that 3q is greater than 2p so that is will hold true!

(iii) I'm not sure what the [3] means but just using the numbers
(2)/(3)x, since of means multiply and add 2y then you have 2y +
(2)/(3) x
